In Unit 2 connects popular themes and well-known elements of black-American culture to influences of the past. Both lessons featured in this unit include a brief history lesson and steps to create related student artwork. The Afrocentric elements present in this unit are centered around the Disco movement, Artists Alma Woodsey Thomas, and the inception of Black History Month.
